Honeymoon Tours in South India, Planned for Two
A honeymoon should never feel like a group tour with half the seats removed. Our South India honeymoon tours stay private from the moment you clear immigration until we wave you off at departures: one car, one driver, your own pace, and hotels chosen for privacy as much as for comfort. The southern states suit newly married couples better than most parts of the country because they pack so much variety into short distances. On a single trip you can wake up above rolling tea gardens in Munnar, spend a night on a Kerala houseboat, and finish with your feet in the warm sand of Goa or the Andaman Islands.
Every itinerary in this collection was written for travelers flying in from outside India, whether home is London, Berlin, Toronto, Sydney or Dubai, as well as NRI couples who want a quiet break after the wedding functions back home. Durations run from seven nights for a beach-focused trip to more than two weeks for couples who want temples, hills, backwaters and coastline in one holiday.
Choosing the Right South India Honeymoon Package
The right South India honeymoon package depends on what the two of you enjoy most. Beach lovers usually lean toward a Goa honeymoon package for Portuguese-era villages, seafood shacks and long sunset walks, or toward an Andaman honeymoon package for clear water, coral reefs and quieter islands such as Havelock and Neil. For something rarer still, our Lakshadweep route adds a few nights on a lagoon island before the Kerala backwaters. Couples who prefer cool air and green views often pick a hill-station route through Coorg, Chikmagalur, Ooty, Kodaikanal or Munnar, where mornings start in mist and evenings end beside a fire.
Kerala remains the most requested choice, and for good reason. A Kerala honeymoon package can include a private houseboat on the Alleppey backwaters, a lake-facing villa in Kumarakom, spice gardens in Thekkady and a final stretch of beach at Marari or Kovalam. For couples who want an even calmer pace, our Ayurveda honeymoon adds couple massages, morning yoga and a gentle wellness routine. Culture lovers can look at the Tamil Nadu heritage route, which combines French-colonial Pondicherry, mansion stays in Chettinad and the temple city of Madurai, or the Hampi and Gokarna trip for boulder-strewn ruins followed by quiet cliff beaches.
First-time visitors to India who also want to see the Taj Mahal can choose a combined route. Our Golden Triangle and Rajasthan honeymoon options start in Delhi, Agra, Jaipur or Udaipur and then fly south for Kerala's backwaters and beaches, so you see both halves of the country without rushing either one. Active couples have their own option too, with trekking in Munnar, rafting in Thekkady and scuba diving in the Andamans.
What Makes Our Honeymoon Tours Different
Each trip is built around time together rather than a long checklist. Drives are planned with stops, long road transfers are replaced by short domestic flights where that makes sense, and free afternoons are part of the plan rather than an afterthought. Depending on the itinerary, you may find a private sunset boat ride, a candlelit dinner by the sea, a couple spa session or a room upgrade request already arranged for you. Our local guides know when to talk and when to give you space, and our team is available around the clock by phone if your plans change along the way.
All of our honeymoon tour packages can be adjusted. You can swap a hotel for a more secluded villa, add a night where you want to slow down, or replace a sightseeing morning with a lie-in. Prices depend on season, hotel category and the number of nights, so we share a detailed quote once we know your dates, your budget and the kind of stays you prefer. There are no shared transfers and no fixed group departures.
Best Time for a Honeymoon in South India
The most comfortable months for a honeymoon in South India run from October to March, when the coast is sunny and the hills are crisp and clear. December and January are peak season in Goa and Kerala, so booking a few months ahead helps with the best rooms and houseboats. April and May suit the hill stations of Coorg, Ooty and Munnar, whereas the rainy months between June and September bring deep green landscapes, lower rates and the best conditions for Ayurveda in Kerala, although beach time is limited. The Andaman Islands are at their best between November and April.
Browse the packages below, pick the one closest to what you have in mind and send us your travel dates. We will shape it into a honeymoon that fits the two of you, down to the room view.
Every itinerary can be customised: adjust cities, pace and nights to suit your travel style.

Good to know
Kerala is the most popular choice because it offers hills, backwaters and beaches within a few hours of each other, and a private houseboat night is hard to beat. Couples who want beaches above everything else often prefer Goa or the Andaman Islands, while Coorg, Ooty and Munnar suit those who like cool weather and green countryside. Many of our trips combine two or three of these regions.
Seven to eight nights work well for one region, such as Goa, the Andamans or the Coorg and Mysore circuit. Ten to twelve nights let you combine hills with backwaters or a beach, and two weeks or more give you time for Tamil Nadu, Kerala and a beach finish without feeling rushed. Our honeymoon packages range from 7 nights to 16 nights.
For most routes, the stretch from October to March gives the easiest conditions, with dry weather on the coast and pleasant days in the hills. The Andaman Islands are best from November to April. April and May still suit hill stations, and the June to September monsoon is ideal for Ayurveda in Kerala but less suited to beach holidays.
Yes. Every honeymoon tour is private, with a car and English-speaking chauffeur reserved for you alone, plus local guides who walk with just the two of you. Houseboats, boat rides and most activities are also arranged privately. You never join a group or share transfers with other travelers.
Absolutely. Every itinerary on this page is a starting point. You can add or remove destinations, extend your stay at a favorite hotel, upgrade to villas with private pools, or include extras such as a spa day or a cooking class. Tell us your dates, budget and interests, and we will send a revised plan and quote.
South India is generally considered one of the more relaxed regions of the country for international visitors. Normal travel sense applies: dress modestly at temples, keep valuables in the hotel safe and use the transport we arrange. Your driver and our local team are always a phone call away, and we brief you on local customs at the start of the trip.
For the Andamans, the paperwork varies with the passport you hold, so our team confirms your exact requirements at the booking stage. Lakshadweep is more restricted: foreign nationals need an entry permit and may visit only selected islands. We handle the permit paperwork for our Lakshadweep honeymoon once you share your passport details.
Depending on the destination, we can arrange candlelit dinners on the beach or by the lake, flower-decorated rooms, a private sunset cruise, couple spa treatments, a honeymoon cake, or a photographer for a few hours. Each package already includes a few of these, and others can be added on request.
Yes. We book private houseboats for honeymoon couples, normally a one-bedroom boat with a shaded sundeck, where the captain, cook and deckhand look after you and serve freshly cooked Kerala meals. The boat cruises in the afternoon, anchors in the evening by a quiet stretch of the backwaters, and returns to the jetty the next morning.
Yes, and many do. We can start the trip from the city where your wedding takes place, keep the first days light so you can recover from the celebrations, and plan around family commitments. The NRI honeymoon in this collection was built with exactly this situation in mind, though any package can be adapted the same way.
Yes. Two of the itineraries here open in the north, covering Delhi, Agra and Jaipur or the lake city of Udaipur, before a domestic flight takes you down to Kerala. The Taj Mahal shuts every Friday, which is why your day in Agra is always scheduled for another day of the week.
Prices include hotels with daily breakfast, the meals and romantic extras listed in each package, a private car with driver, local guides, the domestic flights or ferries mentioned in the itinerary, and all taxes. Monument, temple and museum entrance fees, camera fees, international flights, visas, travel insurance and tips are not included.
