Plan your trip
No two guests see the south the same way. Some want every temple between Chennai and Rameswaram, others want a tea-estate bungalow and nothing on the schedule. The form below tells our planners which kind of trip you have in mind, so the first draft we send is already close to right.
You can start with a classic Kerala tour of Kochi, Munnar, Thekkady and the backwaters, follow the Tamil Nadu temple road, or combine Karnataka, Hampi and Coorg with the coast. Short first visits and three-week loops across all three states are planned the same way: one route, one car, one driver-guide.
The more you tell us about interests, pace and hotel style, the better the plan. Nothing is booked until you approve the itinerary and the price.
A good South India itinerary depends on details that are easy to miss from a map. Most Tamil Nadu temples close from around midday to four in the afternoon, so a day in Madurai or Srirangam works best when it starts early. The climb from Kochi to Munnar takes four hours or more, which is why we rarely suggest a single night there. Houseboats in Alleppey and Kumarakom are very different experiences, and the right one depends on whether you want quiet canals or a livelier stretch of Vembanad Lake.
Your planner uses what you share here to make these choices for you. If you mention that you enjoy food, we might add a Chettinad cooking lunch in Karaikudi or a morning at a spice market in Kochi. If wildlife matters most, we will time your stay in Periyar, Bandipur or Nagarhole for the best safari slots. If you are travelling with parents or young children, we keep drive times shorter and choose hotels with space to rest.
Hotel style shapes the trip as much as the route. Some guests prefer reliable 4-star hotels close to the sights, others want a restored mansion in Chettinad, a colonial bungalow on a tea estate or a family-run homestay in Coorg. Tell us what you enjoy, and we will suggest two or three options for each stop with honest notes on location, rooms and value.
Once we receive your details, a planner from our Kochi office will reply within 12 hours with a day-by-day draft, a map of the route, hotel suggestions and a clear written price. You can then ask for as many changes as you like, by email, phone or WhatsApp, until the plan fits exactly how you want to travel.
What happens next
Before you send the form
Straight answers about planning, prices, seasons and what happens on the road. If your question is not here, our planners are one message away.
No. The first draft and every revision after it are free, and there is no obligation to book. Most guests change the plan two or three times before it feels right, and that is exactly how the process is meant to work.
You only pay once you have approved the final itinerary and the written price. Until then, nothing is reserved in your name.
For travel between October and March, the busiest season in South India, we suggest writing to us three to four months ahead. Good houseboats in Alleppey, heritage hotels in Chettinad and tea-estate bungalows in Munnar fill up early, especially around Christmas, New Year and Pongal in mid-January.
For the monsoon and summer months, four to six weeks is usually enough. We have also planned trips at a few days' notice. The earlier you write, the more choice you have, but a late enquiry is never a problem.
